Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan’s V.M. Public School, Vadodara in association with Cyberpeace Foundation organized a webinar on ‘Online Safety Program for Adolescents’ for the students of classes VI to XII on 20th April’ 2022.
The session commenced with the school Principal, Shri. Rajeev Kumar Singhal warmly welcoming Mr. I. L. Narsimha Rao, Project Manager, Cyber Space Foundation and Mr. Kumar Vikram, Manager Projects and Design, Cyberpeace Foundation. The erudite speaker, Mr. Kumar Vikram gave an enriching talk on topics like Cyber Security, Strong Passwords, Two Factor Authentication, Cyber Bullying, Internet Addiction, Digital Foot printing, Navigating Cyber Space and Parental Controls. Special tips were shared for both teachers and parents in dealing with kids and their internet-related activities.
Cyber safety education will provide students with the knowledge and skills they need to stay safe in online environment. It involves acknowledging the benefits and opportunities offered by the online world, while understanding the risks and avoiding potential harms. It was indeed a very informative and interactive two-hour session with the students raising many questions and queries. Mr. Kumar Vikram concluded the session with the idea of the schools playing a major role in shaping up a child’s personality and educating them about challenges in the real world.
