Inter House Activity Policy
1. Introduction
Co-curricular activities are an essential part at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan’s as it plays a significant role in all round development of students. All the activities are designed to balance with academic curriculum so that every student gets to learn beyond subjects.

At Bhavan’s, we recognize, develop and treasure the uniqueness of each child. Our Emphasis has always been on LEARNING and DISCOVERING. We believe that education is an exhilarating, interactive and life long experience. It can be complete only when it is multi-faceted and blends academics, cultural activities, literary work, creativity, sports, art, music, nature and value education. Every child must get an opportunity to explore his/her interest as well as potential and follow his/her passion accordingly.

We encourage wholehearted participation of our students in the wide range of theme-based activities under the title ‘IHA Competitions’. The main objective of these activities is to create an intricate blend of tradition with modernity, self-awareness, empathy, critical thinking, creative thinking, decision making, problem solving, effective communication, leadership, team spirit, sustainability inter-personal relationship, problem solving etc. Through these activities we strive to provide knowledge, skills, abilities, attitudes and beliefs that are essential for a productive, successful and happy life.

No education can be complete without sports. Apart from curricular and co-curricular competitions, various sports competitions are organized to promote the moral, cultural, mental, physical, spiritual, discipline, hard work, dedication and overall development of pupils and prepare them for the opportunities, responsibilities and experiences of adult life.

The activities are not only theme or objective oriented but also include life skills, communication skills, language skills, presentation skills, interpersonal skills which are the lasting skills that transcend school/college life.

The school is divided into four Houses to promote team spirit and solidarity amongst the students and teachers. Every student is allotted a House at the time of admission which is not changed throughout his/her years in the school. Regular inter house competitions are held round the year.
