Principal’s Annual Report 2018-19

In order to carry a positive action, we must develop a positive vision.

Respected Chief Guest for the Annual Day celebrations Dr Anil Shreedhar Kane, President of the World Wind Energy Association and chairman of the Indian Wind Energy Association, Shri D S Dalal, Director Vadodara Complex, Dr Upendra Kaushik, Academic Advisor, distinguished guests, parents, teachers, staff and students . I am extremely delighted to welcome all of you this evening to this great institution. It is the visionary outlook in Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan that empowers all of us with valuable wisdom and we shoulder and carry forward the cultural and dutiful legacy of our founder Kulapati K M Munshi ji, year after year.

Dr Anil Shreedhar Kane  is our chief guest for the function. Dr Kane is a national and international awardee for his immense contribution in the field of energy conservation. With a rich and dedicated experience of fifty years in various eminent positions, he is amongst us to bless the fraternity of Bhavans.

I thank you for sparing your valuable time and being with us this evening sir.       

To begin with academics, Board Results of Year 2018 have been momentous and significant  In many subjects our students have done commendably well and we posted 100% result for both the Std  X and the Std  XII. In Class XII ,in the Science stream, Master Vivek Patel has topped our school with 96.8% marks in aggregate and Master Jeet Patel has stood second with 96% marks in aggregate.

Ms Roohi Uppal of Commerce stream has secured 93% marks in aggregate.

14 students have secured more than 90 % marks in aggregate and all the students have an aggregate of above 60% marks.

Master Vivek Patel and Master Jeet Patel have secured 100 % marks  in Mathematics and Master Jeet Patel Has also secured 100 %marks  in Chemistry.

In comparison to the last academic session, average performance of the school has improved considerably, up by 5% on an average, and stands at 77.8% for this year.

In the Std X Board Exam, Master Siddharth  Tandon has topped the school with 96.4% marks. Ms Latika Yadav stands second with 95.8%marks and Master Atharva Limaye stands third with 95.6% marks.

I appreciate the  outstanding performance of our Students in Social Science where 5 students have secured 100%marks. 1 student has secured 100%marks in Mathematics.

26 students have secured an average of  above 90% marks  and 60 students have secured an average between 75% to 89% marks.  

I heartily congratulate all the students, their parents and teachers for the hard work and guidance they have provided to the students for such a remarkable accomplishment.

Knowledge is not what you know but what you do with it. I am hopeful that we will create an empowering energy field where creativity, confidence and commitment to work will be prioritized.

Our students participated in International Chemistry Quiz ANCQ 2018 conducted by the Royal Chemical Institute , Australia..It is a matter of great pride that Master Prakhar Singhal of Std IX was awarded HD Excellence award for his outstanding performance in the Quiz. This is the highest achievement conferred on any student in our school by an International body.

The top 15% of students in the country received distinction. From our school it was won by Master Suryansh Chauhan of Std IX, Ms Anshika Kumari of Std IX.

Ms Reeti Joshi of Std VI A performed at the Nan Ying International Dance Festival and represented India in this International Dance and Cultural festival. She performed classical bharatnatyam and was awarded Golden shield and certificate from the mayor  of Taiwan City.

Master Anjo Rose of Std V B participated in Gujarat Kalamahakumbh in Violin competition in Under 14 category and secured the 1st position at the District, Regional and the State level .

Ms Angelina Rose of Std III participated in Gujarat Kalamakumbh in Bharatnatayam dance and stood at the 1st position at the State level.

Master Darsh Patel of Std IV D received CBSE Merit certificate, third position in Zonal skating championship, Baroda District Roller Skating championship and Ist position in Rink race, Road Race.

Apart from academics, we have focussed on other life skills which the students require in their lives for distinguished recognition beyond the classroom. The students aesthetic development, character enrichment, spiritual and physical growth are co-ordinated by conducting activities in school as well as inter-school participation. Some of the in-house activities included were Mock Parliament, G.K. Quiz, Group Discussion, One Act Play and Street Play.

 In –Inter School participation, we sent out teams to various schools for  competing at different levels.

Master Prakhar Singhal and Master Sahil Srivastava bagged the first position in Heritage Quiz organised by Bhavan’s Nadiyad.

We also organised SOF Olympiads to provide our students for better understanding of scientific facts so as to enhance their reasoning, analytical and problem solving techniques. It is a matter of great pride that our students secured top 25 positions in the zonal level and top 3 positions in the International level.

With Health and Physical Education an important part under CBSE curriculum, we motivate our students to participate in the various Sports competitions organised at the National , State and District level. Master Suraj Hirve of Std XII was selected in SGFI Nationals held in Rajasthan from 12-19 November in Rajasthan. A number of students were sent to Khelmahakumbh for various Sports events. Our school soccer team participated in CBSE Cluster and Khelmahakumbh and bagged the Second position. Ms Ishangi Sinha, Ms Tanisha Hirve, Ms Siddhi Deshmukh and Ms Kanika Verma participated in SGFI Speedball Tournament and were selected for the Nationals. Master Dewool Fulbaje bagged the third position in CBSE West Zone Judo Championship. Ms Kashvi Lodhia received accolades for skating at various levels of competition at District and the State level.

Master Dhruv B Patel bagged the first position in Lawn Tennis in Khel Mahakumbh.

To provide a state of complete physical, mental and social well being, a number of initiatives were taken up by the school to empower students for all round development.

We were a part of Government’s resolve to eliminate measles and control rubella syndrome.1,233 students got vaccinated under this drive .

As a part of Poshan  Abhiyan for holistic nourishment, under the direction of Ayush ministry, New Delhi, we motivated students to become nutrition ambassadors for this noble cause .Ms Jhanvi Pandya, Master Harsh Ramani, Master Deepansh Saraf and Ms Anshika Kumari were selected as ambassadors of Nutrition Brigade.

Hindustan Scouts & Guides, recognised by the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, were invited in our school to organise a two-day Scouts & Guides camp  on 1st and 2nd of October 2018. The camp gave an opportunity to 154 students from classes 8th, 9th and 10th (including 99 boys and 55 girls) to attend the camp and learn various life skills required for being confident and athletic.

Teaching quality and school leadership are the most important factors in raising student achievement. Teachers need to constantly expand their knowledge and skills to implement the best educational practices. 

Our school in collaboration with Center of Excellence, Ajmer Region organized two day orientation programme for Master Trainers on Inclusion and Inclusive strategies on September 18 and 19. The orientation programme was attended by the Principal, Vice Principals, Coordinators, Special educators and senior teachers which fall in Ajmer region of CBSE.

The Energy Conservation Awareness workshop was conducted on September 25 in collaboration with Gujarat Energy Development Agency and was attended by 30 teachers from various schools.

Pre-Primary and Primary section teachers attended a workshop on Motivation organised on September 15 in our school. The core theme was that educating the mind without educating the heart, is no education at all.

A series of workshops on topics related to classroom management were organised where we invited Professor SC Panigrahi, Coordinator UGC-CAS, Department of Education, MSU, Dr A P Jayaraman, Vice Chairman, National Center for Science Communication and Ms Vaibhavi Gawarikar, lecturer Navrachana University. 

As the world shrinks to be a global village, we too recognise and celebrate exemplary practices of international outlook in our school. We are recipient of ISA Award for 2017-2020.Our efforts are to nurture global citizenship in young people by enriching teaching and learning using international standards. All our teachers have successfully completed six professional development courses of the British Council. The aim is to develop leadership skills and foster team building, innovation and project management.

To supplement knowledge and skill in the teaching-learning domain, our teachers were sent to attend various workshops organised by eminent bodies at National and District level.

The Principal attended IPSC Principal’s Conference 2017 at The Punjab Public School, Nabha and IPSC Principal’s Conference 2018 at LK Singhania Research Center ,Gotan.

He also attended the Master Trainers’ Workshop on Remodelled structure of Assessment in Mumbai and Inclusion and Inclusive Strategies in Bhavan’s Vadodara.

Mrs Archana Khamar attended Capacity Building Programme on Career Guidance.

Mrs S Devasena and Mrs Saritha Sudhir attended workshop on remodelled structure of assessment.

Ms Suruchi Sharma attended workshop on Library Science at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Jaipur.

Mrs Nidhi Saxena attended aworkshop for Economics at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Jaipur.

Ms Tasneem Hotelwala attended All India Accountancy Workshop at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Chandigarh.

Ms Manisha Bhatt attended a workshop on Safety and Security of girls by NIPCCD at Delhi.

Mrs Meenakshi Chippa attended a workshop on Cultural Heritage in collaboration with INTACH at Bright Day School, Vadodara.

Mr Bharat Singh attended a workshop on Health and Physical Education Books.

Shri BM Patel, Ms Sonal Sharma, Ms Sindhu Stanley, Ms Manisha Singh Bhatt, Ms Saritha Sudhir and ms Manisha Bhatt attended a workshop on ICT for schools in Bhavan’s Vadodara.

Mrs Namrata Mahendra attended a Master Trainer workshop on Inclusion and Inclusive Strategies in Bhavan’s Vadodara.

Ms Sandhya Vig and Ms Shalini Verma attended a workshop on sensory Integration at Navrachana Visyani.

Mrs Archana Sharma and Mrs Indira Parmar attended a workshop organised by The Central Gujarat Sahodaya School Complex at New era.

Ms Beena Acharya nd Ms Nidhi Thakkar attended a workshop on Gender Sensitivity at Podar School.

Ms Anjali Sharma attended a workshop on Safety and Security of girls in schools at New Delhi.    


An innovative way to improve the fluency , competency and time management skills, we introduced Kaizen –change for better.

The idea behind Kaizen was to provide students, community and staff with compiled set of resources to bring a desired change –from technical world to the real world through technology.

Time Management, Career Counselling sessions are held for students of higher grade. Students of Std XI and XII write MCQ tests on every Monday which are evaluated through OMR Reader. This will provide them with better practice for competitive exams.

Cultural and Spiritual dimensions are inseparable part of school curriculum. We begin our day with the Morning assembly where we impart valuable lessons to improve discipline, enhance the spirit of nationality and incorporate values for meaningful existence.

To provide  understanding of the rich heritage of India, we celebrate different festivals on our campus. Ganesh Chaturthi and Navratri added vibrant hues to the celebrations.      

The heart of the education is the education of the heart.

 There are a number of innovative practices which we will be including in our next academic planner to encourage our students to be creative, proactive, to think critically , take decisions independently and communicate ideas effectively.

I am thankful to the school management, teaching and non-teaching staff for all the help they have provided to me , as and when needed.

The pessimists complains about the the wind

The realist adjusts the sails.

We in Bhavan’s believe in setting realistic life goals which will transform us from living beings to human beings.

That is the theme of our Cultural Programme Transformation.
